Meet the 2nd Release Candidate: Jojo

Jojo was rescued by the Nyaru Menteng Rescue Team and BKSDA around an oil palm plantation in Muara Teweh in February, 2008.  He was 4-5 years old at the time of his rescue and still healthy.  This male orangutan has special characteristics with a white mottled lips.  Like Heldy, he is also very happy to see his caretakers.

Jojo is now 8-9 years old, weighs 28.2 kg and very ready to be released back to the forest.  He will be going back with his best friend Heldy, and we expect them to stick together.

Our monitoring team will pay close attention to both Jojo and Heldy over the coming months in the forest.
